If you’re a sucker for cosy games – especially farm simulation games, you’ll definitely enjoy Apple Arcade’s latest game – Japanese Rural Life Adventure. It is exclusive to iOS users with Apple Arcade or Apple Family subscription.
About the Game
Experience slow living set in a cute, pixelated Japanese countryside where you help villagers revive their home town – lots of things to do despite looking so simple. If you enjoy Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon, you’ll absolutely love this.
I will not take away the excitement from you by explaining too much but here are some tips that I think are super helpful to know at the beginning of the game (or even throughout because I am still doing these albeit 1 week+ into the game). No spoilers, just helpful tips to ease your gaming experience even more!
Tip 1 – Fish, Fish & Fish!
One of the fastest ways to earn money (you’ll need this for materials) at the start of the game. You can earn an easy 100 coins for cooked fish (but do remember to keep some because your dog’s food preference changes as it grows). Catching fishes do get easier over time as you level up. Different areas spawn different fish species, so go ahead and explore! Craft your own fishing rod at the DIY table.
Tip 2 – Craft a Net
You’ll need a net to catch those cute bugs. Bugs, just like the rest of the resources, respawn pretty quickly in the game and sell for good money. They’re pretty easy to catch (just make sure you hit the green bar) and you can easily earn quick bucks from selling these bugs to the van guy. You can craft your own net at the DIY table.
Tip 3 – Collect Flowers!
The game respawns materials very fast (in less than 1 minute? Sorry I did not count but it’s pretty dang fast) in every map so just go around and collect flowers at the beginning of the game because you can sell them for a pretty good price to the man at the van
Tip 4 – Get a Candlestick
Before obtaining the candlestick, you basically are not able to work at night – meaning you can’t fish or catch insects that will earn you extra money. So take the time to gather materials until you meet the nice old lady who sells items in front of your house. She will sell you materials to craft a lamp at an affordable price (cannot remember how much)
Tip 5 – Nap Before The Sun Sets
Once the map turns dark, aka, nighttime, napping to replenish energy is not possible. If you notice the sun is about to set (the colour tone slowly changes to dark orange), quickly take a nap to replenish your energy. Once it is dark, you are not able to nap anymore for he will sleep till the next day.
