Valentine’s Day, a day where we celebrate our love and affection to those we hold dear to our heart. & depending on who you are, you may find yourself caught up in the whirlwind of the most celebrated day of love
…or rolling your eyes at the overpriced heart- themed everything.
Either way, the occasion gives reason for a little sweet treat.
“Shall I compare thee to a Chocolate Pot?”
Dark, sweet and delicious. If ever we’re on the topic of perfect partners, I would say Chocolates come pretty close.
“Thou art more lovely and more temperate”
I mean if you think about it, Chocolate is always there when you need it to be. It listens without judgement to the idiocy of your rants . It gives all of itself wholeheartedly. All your friends love it and your parents approve. But most importantly, it makes you happy on the inside.
Marry me, Chocolate.
And these creamy little chocolate pots are absolutely perfect!
“But thy eternal deliciousness shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that yummy thou ow’st;“
Whether you’re thinking of making something sweet for a special someone to celebrate the occasion with, or whether you are the one that needs celebrating (because hey, girlfriend you matter too!), these individual sized pots of luscious chocolate cream would check all the right boxes.
Very simple to put together and prepare ahead of time yet so decadent in looks and flavour. I’m pretty sure no one would even realise that all you needed to do was: Melt chocolate in cream , chill in fridge. Minimal effort, maximum pleasure.
Also, depending on the size of your pot, this recipe also yields more than 1 serving. So it’ll work whether you’re thinking of making this for a partner, a partner + a thirdwheeler, or as extras for yourself. My only problem with this was that mine melted way too quickly in the Chinese New Year heat of Malaysia. So do make sure to chill your mixture adequately or else you’ll be left with a pot of chocolate soup instead (which also sounds pretty amazing actually). Will probably adjust the chocolate to cream ratio the next time I attempt this.
“So long as men can breathe or eyes can see (or mouths can taste),
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. “
In all seriousness tho, 2021 hasn’t exactly been the best of starts we were hoping for. And we can’t be sure where the rest of the year will bring us. But what we can be sure of though is that we are stronger & more resilient than we give ourselves credit for. And that we have what it takes to make the most of our circumstances, no matter how challenging or uncertain. We just have to believe we do.
And if ever we need a pick-me-up along the way, there’ll always be these Chocolate pots. 😉
Happy Valentine’s Day!
