Needly Cleansing Balm Review

A fairly new Korean skincare brand that focuses on clean ingredients with white, minimalist packaging (definitely a trend in the world of skincare packaging!), Needly is an upcoming KBeauty brand that deserves a lil’ more attention & love.

I’ve first heard about the brand from Soo Beauty where she spoke about how much she enjoyed using their Facial Pads. I was lucky enough to be approached by the team & they generously sent over the Cleansing Balm & tons for skincare samples for me to try and review.

Here’s my review on Needly Cleansing Balm for now. I’ll be updating my thoughts here on their skincare samples from time to time 🙂

What’s a Cleansing Balm?

It’s a balm to oil cleanser that melts when in contact with skin & water. Cleansing balm helps to break down makeup & remove dirt, impurities & SPF from our skin. It emulsifies just like an oil cleanser when mixed with water. Some enjoy the texture of a balm whilst some prefers the smoothness of an oil cleanser. Which category are you in?

Introduction

A mild, sherbet-like cleansing balm that is formulated without alcohol, synthetic pigments & fragrance. Some notable ingredients used are camellia oil, green tea seed oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, sunflower seed oil, olive oil, rice bran oil & jojoba seed oil. This cleansing balm claims to also help in controlling whiteheads.

Full Ingredients – Ethylhexyl Palmitate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Triethylhexanoin, Polyethylene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-8 Isostearate, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Fermemt, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Camellia Sinensis-Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Simmondsia-Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Saponaria Officialis Leaf Extract, Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

Packaging

The 120ml sherbet-like balm sits in a simple white, matte tub. Spatula is included & the lid is quite sturdy, not flimsy.

Texture & Scent

This is one of the softest cleansing balm texture I’ve ever dug into, which I really enjoy. Though it doesn’t contain fragrances, the mixture of all the oils creates a spa-like scent that delivers a very therapeutic sensation when one uses this.

How To Use?

Scoop an adequate amount (pea-sized dollop would do) and spread the balm onto the face. I like to start with my cheeks. Slowly massage on the skin & let the balm melt your makeup away. Add a few drops of water & let it emulsify to further break down the makeup. Rinse off with water.

Verdict

Hving tried two balms before this (Im From & Heimish), this is my most favourite. This balm melts into the skin beautifully & emulsifies easily. Doesn’t sting the eyes nor blurs out my vision, which is a plus point. It removes my makeup effectively & I particularly enjoy the spa-like scent this delivers. It doesn’t clog my pores (I’m halfway through the tub) as well.

Price

RM98 (120ml) in Needly’s official Shopee Malaysia page (not an affiliate link). As compared to Heimish, this is definitely pricier but it’s slightly cheaper than Im From. Would I repurchase? Yes & No. Yes, because this is my most favourite balm so far. No, because I’m loving oil cleansers more now, unless I gravitate back to balm then this would be my first choice!

Thanks for reading this far! I hope you enjoyed this review of mine. Leave a comment if you’ve tried this before, or just to chat!
