Nosh, as a verb means to “eat food enthusiastically or greedily”.
Yes, that pretty much sounds like how I consume my food most of the time. Noshing, instead of regular people eating because taking your time to chew is too inefficient.
Was pretty excited when I found out that Nosh was opening in my neighbourhood, especially since I had been meaning to try their sister cafes Poke Twins (Mount Austin) & Shaka by Poke Twins (Taman Melodies) but had never gotten round to in the past.

As their name suggests, they specialize in mostly Poke bowls (pronounced “poh-kay”, please don’t invert it lol) which is a native Hawaiian dish that usually refers to cubes of raw fish served together with rice and greens. They also have in their menu, Grain bowls (a complete meal similar to Poke bowls but with a grain as a base), bagels and a few selections of homemade bakes.
You can pick from the preset bowls from their menu or build your own bowl. Either way, you can’t go wrong. We opted for the latter and decided to DIY our own bowls. Basically, to build your own bowl, you pick:
- Your type of bowl i.e. poke/grain
- Choose a protein
- Choose 2 sauces
- Choose 4 sides
- Choose from an unlimited amount of toppings (inner Asian aunty approves)
- Choose add-ons (optional)
- Choose if you want to make it a meal with drinks (optional)

Had fun mixing and matching from the extensive list of different ingredients and sauces. Think rosemary salmon, lemongrass chicken, sesame tofu, wasabi aioli, signature honey&lime sauce, cherry tomatoes, mangoes, corn, edamame, pickled ginger, seaweed salad, etc . The list goes on ! I really don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that there are possibly hundreds of combinations of bowls for you to come up with.
Wise man once said, “Your poke bowl is unique as you,”

Generous servings & fresh ingredients with well balanced flavours. It didn’t feel at all like I was forcing my self to eat healthy. Thought the prices were quite reasonable too. You can’t put a price on health they say, but starting from RM 15.9 you can get yourself a pretty fulfilling meal of goodness. New year’s resolutions back on track in April. lol jokes .

Had visited the place for breakfast before this too and had really enjoyed their breakfast bagel set (RM 12, comes with a hot black. +RM2 to upgrade to a hot white) . Bagels were toasted with the right amount of chew, though the filling I chose was pretty standard. You should definitely give their coffee a try here at NOSH. They get their beans from Vamos Coffee Roastery in town which does pretty good stuff.

All in all, this is definitely a great place to visit for nourishing wholesome food, good coffee and wheat field vibes. (The golden wheat grains reminded us of those Koko Krunch ads when we were kids, anyone know what I’m talking about? Lol). Staff were helpful & welcoming too. Definitely would recommend for your next nosh sess.
