With high ceilings, marble countertops and a gorgeous view of the KL Tower, Altitude screams luxury and class, the moment you step onto the 53rd floor of Banyan Tree Hotel. The ambience alone makes it a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
We were there for their special Holiday Afternoon tea (available from now till 31 December) filled with Christmas themed desserts. I was also pretty impressed by the selection of savoury and desserts served.
To start off, we had a good balance of savoury flavours from oysters, seafood tarts to sandwiches with different cuts of meat. The smoked duck sandwich with cranberry gel was especially good!
I am more of a sweet tooth kinda gal, so I was most looking forward to the desserts! It came in a decorative 3 tier stand where even the Christmas cookies were stacked like a Christmas tree. Aside from scones, the sweets included:

Coconut cake with Mascarpone and Chestnut cream
Christmas Ball
Raspberry mouse, chocolate cream, sea salt chocolate sable
Panettone Macarone
Panettone Ganache, almond shell
Hazelnut Yule log
Hazelnut spread, roasted coconut, egg sponge
Cempedak Cheesecake Verine (Best!)
Cheesecake cream, fresh cempedak compote
Jingle Bells Raspberry Tart
Fresh raspberry, raspberry tart shell
All of them were really tasty, but I was especially impressed by the Matcha scones and the Cempedak cheesecake cream. I have never tasted Matcha scones but now that I have, I wish more places would serve this! It had just the right levels of bitterness and coupled with the clotted cream and home-made jam, it was absolutely delicious!
The Cempedak Cheesecake cream was really fragrant and creamy and a must-have for all Cempedak lovers. 🙂
The Afternoon Tea cost RM148/pax and albeit a pretty steep price tag, I think it’s worth it ! Overall, I felt the experience was great. Nothing like enjoying tasty afternoon tea with breathtaking views of the KL skyline.
If you are looking for a picturesque place to hang out with with your girlfriends or for a celebration, this is the place to be at 🙂
