Honest Review and Swatches of Tocobo’s Plumping Lip Oils & Masks

If you’re into K-Beauty, I’m sure you’ve seen the brand Tocobo floating around the K-Beauty community – especially their Lip Oils and Lip Masks! Their target market is the younger crowds as their packaging is super cute and vibrant, especially their lip care range! I personally love their makeup range over the skincare (some hits and misses for me), so today I’ll be sharing full swatches of their bestselling lip oils, and share my thoughts on their lip masks as well.

Can we just appreciate the adorable packaging?!

Tocobo Plumping Lip Oils

I received 8 shades late last year but as I am writing this in early 2025, I just noticed they have expanded to 14 shades! I just can’t keep up with K-beauty’s speed lol. Anyhoo, here are my reviews!

What are they?

They’re a plumping lip product but in lip oil texture, super comfortable and moisturising on the lips with beautiful colour payoff, whilst giving a slight plumping effect (except for 01 – Frozen Berry which is the spiciest among all)

Scent

All of them have a typical berry scent. Not too sweet but definitely noticeable and lingers on a little while. Thankfully, it doesn’t taste like cherry medicine, so all good.

Plumping Effect

If you’re new to lip-plumping products, you’ll definitely feel a little weird upon your first use. It doesn’t hurt, honestly but more to minty sensation. Like you’ve had 2 mentos, instead of 1. However, shade 01 – Frozen Berry has a ‘Plumping MAX’ label to it, which means it has the most plumping effect and boy, it really does. It feels really spicy, which makes this my least favourite albeit loving the glossy shade.

Swatches

My personal fav here is the Chilli Red
I love the darker shades a lot more – especially Black Cherry and Rosy Girl!

They all look very similar to each other when swatched in real life as compared to the marketing pictures on their website. The shade differences are not super noticeable, in my honest opinion. I do, however, personally prefer the darker shades as they complement my cool skin tone more. My top favs are Chilli Red, Black Cherry and Rosy Girl.

Lip Masks

SUPER CUTE JARS!

These babies are my top, top favourite lip masks of all time. They are really moisturising, a little goes a long way and the scent is really pleasant – doesn’t give me a headache since I wear them to sleep most of my nights.

What are the different types available?

Vita Glazed Lip Mask – everyday use, my favourite to use both day and night.
Collagen Boosting Lip Mask – has a lavender scent, also my favourite to wear to sleep!
Lemon Sugar Scrub Lip Mask – a non-wash-off exfoliating lip scrub for mild exfoliation that smells super fresh like lemon.
Mint Cooling Lip Mask – has a minty, cooling effect for those who love minty scent and sensation. This is my least favourite because it smells like toothpaste *cries

I’m currently alternating between the Lavendar and the original Vita Glazed, two of my current favourite

Come with a spatula. a little goes a long way with these lip masks.

Overall Thoughts

Am I a fan of lip-plumping products? Not really. But do I like these plumping lip oils? I actually do! The reason because I don’t use them for their plumping effect (which is minimal to none, honestly) except for the Frozen Berry which has a visible plumping effect. I love them for their moisturising care with beautiful colour payoff. Like how it also not very sticky and stains the lips a little when it wears off (only applies to darker shades). If you are a lip oil fan or just prefer naturally glossy lips, these are perfect! The price tag is on point (not sure why Olive Young is way more expensive though). As for the Lip Masks, it’s a no-brainer to get them because they’re cheaper than the popular Laneige Lip Mask and work the same, in my opinion.

Till the next post! xx
